About Me

Lori and brown dog

Hi, I’m Lori!

My journey into grooming started a little over 20 years ago, and really, it all began with a little Yorkie-Poo named Madison.

Madison was originally meant to be our family dog, but it didn’t take long before the two of us formed a special bond and she became my dog — my little sidekick and best buddy. She was by my side for 15 wonderful years and ultimately became the inspiration behind Madison’s Pet Grooming.

I began my grooming career at PetSmart, where I completed my training and discovered just how much I loved working with dogs. From there, I worked in a few grooming shops throughout the Lower Mainland, gaining experience with all kinds of dogs, personalities, coats and grooming needs.

About 15 years ago, I made the move to Lumby and eventually took the leap and opened my own grooming shop.

One of the things I love most about having my business here is the incredible sense of community. Over the years, so many of my clients — both the two-legged and four-legged ones — have become like extended family. I’ve had the privilege of watching puppies grow up, welcoming new pets into families and building relationships with people and their dogs that have lasted for years. That’s something I’m incredibly grateful for.

When I’m not grooming, I’m a mom to two boys, three Chihuahuas and two kitties, so animals are definitely still a big part of life at home! I also love being outdoors, hiking, weight lifting, listening to music, travelling and spending some quiet time needle felting.

After nearly 20 years behind the grooming table, I still love what I do. Every dog is different, and I believe in getting to know each one as an individual — their personality, their quirks and what helps them feel comfortable.

For me, Madison’s Pet Grooming is about more than grooming dogs. It’s about relationships, trust and caring for the pets that mean so much to the families in our community.

Madison may have been the little dog who started it all, but all these years later, her legacy lives on in every furry friend who comes through my door. ❤️
